Sponsored by Yemen Soft: YACPA holds a symposium on auditing exchange companies
The Yemeni association of certified public accountants (YACPA) with the institute for training accountants and auditors and the sponsorship of Yemen Soft held a symposium on auditing exchange companies. The symposium discussed a number of papers:
- Auditing exchange companies, presented by Hamed Alshamiri, from Grant Thornton Yemen
- Central Bank tasks as a monetary authority and its relationship with exchange sector, and central bank requirements concerning exchange companies and how to meet them. The paper was presented by Ibrahim Awawi, assistant director general of monetary and exchange affairs.
- A familiarization seminar on Yemen Soft exchange system and the ability of the system to meet central bank requirements and certified accountants needs presented by Yemen Soft systems team.
At the end of the symposium, there was a discussion session attended by Abdulmalik Hajar, the chairman of YACPA, Ameen Alshami, sub-governor, banks control sector, central bank, Ibrahim Hayoti, director of Yemen Soft, Sana’a branch, Mohammed Hamdani, director general of monetary and exchange affairs, Ibrahim Awawi, assistant director general of monetary and exchange affairs, Fawwaz Banna, director general of inspection, central bank, Nabeel Jaadi, training and consultations coordinator at Yemen Soft, Nabeel Saadi, director of the institute for training accountants and auditors. The discussion enriched different points of view on the difficulties encountered by accountants and auditors when auditing exchange companies and aimed to establish strong communication between central bank and certified accountants. Dr. Hajar thanked the central bank for being cooperative in organizing the symposium that would be of benefit for all Yemeni auditors, and expressed his ambition to hold more workshops to cover more accountants and enhance professional ties in exchange companies auditing sector.
